Whether it is your first day back at school
after the weekend, or after a long school holiday – being a bit nervous is not
unusual for all teachers.

Take a few minutes to read through these
helpful tips, and make them work for you…

Start off by being firm – not mean!

Always set rules and follow through with them.

Plan out which routines and procedures you want to have in place.

Make a folder with all your important information inside such as
seating arrangements, emergency lesson plans, etc.

Before school starts, have your week of lessons planned out in
advance.

Have a seating chart for your students as soon as they walk into
class.

Always make sure you have time each day to mark tests, etc.

Every day is a new day, so give yourself a fresh start daily.

Be humble, you can learn to be more effective in the classroom no
matter how experienced you are.
