Here are a few mistakes parents make when they discipline their children...

      ·         Disciplining Normal Behaviour
It can be hard to keep up with what “normal” actually is. A 10 year old acts differently to a 16 year old, and because they behaviours are so different and sometimes annoying, parents can lose their temper. Always keep in mind that this is what kids do at their age.

      ·         Shouting and Screaming
Shouting and screaming at your child is never a good discipline technique as it is only teaching your child to be disrespectful. Often when parents reach the frustration breaking point, they’ll yell, but this is never a genuine way to solve a problem.

      ·         Inconsistency
The magic behind disciplining your children is consistency! Many parents will complain that they use different techniques on their children, but they never work. Why? Because they often threaten their children with consequences, but they never follow through.

      ·         Not Disciplining each Child Individually
Some children may be horribly upset if you simply look at them the wrong way, while others won’t even react. Parents will multiple children need to learn that one kind of discipline doesn’t work on all children.

The good news is that all these mistakes can be fixed with a few positive discipline techniques.
